Although the new structure which...This paper describes the reconstruction of the bridge of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company, across the Allegheny River on the line of 33d Street, Pittsburgh, Pa. Although the new structure which replaces a bridge built in 1884 at the same location, is not of unusual size, the necessity of maintaining uninterrupted railroad operation during the work, the requirement of the War Department that no interference with river traffic be occasioned, and local right-of-way conditions which restricted to narrow limits the available working space, render the reconstruction a matter of interest.Read More
