Title: Global Governance as Multi-Level Governance
Abstract: Abstract This article argues that global governance can be described as a specific form of multi-level governance. It explains that global governance refers to the entirety of regulations put forward with reference to solving specific denationalized and deregionalized problems or providing transnational common goods. The article contends that political institutions on the global level today possess a significant level of authority and that those international institutions only achieve their effect by interacting with other political levels. It also compares the specific features of global multi-level governance with other national or regional multi-level governance systems and highlights the built-in deficiencies of such a system.
