Title: Effect of Electrolyte Concentration on Performance in Vanadium Redox Flow Battery
Abstract: Vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) has many advantages such as high safety, long life, and flexibility of design. On the other hand, energy density of VRFB is low because of difficulty to make high vanadium concentration electrolyte. In this study, we investigated the effects of the concentration on performance in a VRFB using under electrolyte development. The results showed that, while high concentration electrolyte increases battery capacity basically, it tends to produce sludge, and the limiting current density is not increased proportionally by the higher vanadium concentration due to the effect of its higher viscosity.
