Title: A Hybrid Spectral-Element Finite-Difference Time-Domain Method for Electromagnetic Simulation
Abstract: A hybrid spectral-element finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is proposed for electromagnetic simulation in this letter. This proposed hybrid method takes full advantage of the efficiency of FDTD method with the traditional Yee's grid and the flexibility of spectral-element time-domain method in modeling complex geometry, and it inherits the powerful ability in parallelism. Furthermore, the discontinuous Galerkin method is employed to improve the efficiency in dealing with nonconforming meshes. Numerical results demonstrate the accuracy and robustness of the proposed method.
