Title: An Urban Hydrology Model for the Personal Computer
Abstract: The use of personal computers to evaluate the effects of urbanization on the hydraulic response characteristics of a watershed is discussed in this paper. Specifically, the use of a group of related hydrologic and hydraulic programs to assist urban planners in estimating runoff rates and volumes is addressed. These programs deal with SCS curve number weighting, design rainfall hyetographs, sub-area hydrographs by the SCS unit hydrograph method, hydrographs by the SCS TR-55 tabular method, Muskingum channel routing, Modified Puls routing, hydrograph combining, hydrograph plotting and multi-stage reservoir outlet analysis. The menu driven computer model allows the selection and interaction of all the programs in an unlimited number of sequences to solve complex hydrologic problems.
