China. The new species closely resembles two other Chinese species: S. cochlearidigitum Dai, Chen, Zhang & Lin, 1986, from Fang and Zhushan Counties; and S. introdigitum Dai, Chen, Zhang & Lin, 1986, from Fang and Yun Counties and Shennongjia, in general morphology and their distinctive spoon-tipped cheliped fingers.
