Title: Different roles of pre-SMA and SMA in human visuomotor sequence learning: a TMS study
Abstract: Introduction: Both the pre-supplementary motor area (pre-SMA) and the supplementary motor area proper (SMA) are known to take part in the visuomotor sequence learning. Previous reports implicated that the pre-SMA plays a role especially in the acquisition of a new sequence, while the SMA in movement itself rather than learning. Here we studied the roles of pre-SMA or SMA in human visuomotor sequence learning with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation technique.
