Title: British and American English; their Linguistic Features and Czech Users´ Preferences
Abstract: This bachelor thesis deals with British and American English, regarding their features and non-native speaker?s preferences. The work specifically deals with Czech non-native speakers. The aim of the theoretical part is to outline the development and origin of British and American English and to acquaint the reader with the basic grammatical, phonetic and lexical differences between British and American English. The aim of the practical part is to investigate whether Czech students prefer one of these two variants of English - British or American English and what are the factors of their preferences.
