Bonnemaison dans « Voyage autour du territoire » nous rappelle qu'elles n'en participent pas moins à notre manière de nous rapporter et de nous identifier à l'espace, de l'habiter, de nous y déplacer, de le pratiquer ou encore d'agir sur lui.Cette forte imprégnation des émotions dans l'espace des sociétés a d'ailleurs conduit, dans d'autres sciences humaines et sociales que la géographie, à l'élaboration de véritables champs de recherche qui ont progressivement construit les émotions comme objets d'étude.La mobilisation des émotions a ainsi enrichi la sociologie à partir des années 1930 avec les travaux de M. Halbwachs, et surtout à partir des années 1970 (Turner, Stets, 2005), autour des travaux d'A.R. Hochschild ou d'E.Goffman par exemple.Considérant que la culture et la socialisation participent au ressenti des émotions en permettant entre autres de les nommer, ces dernières ont en effet été peu à peu appréhendées comme de véritables faits sociaux.Elles ont, à ce titre, été envisagées à la fois comme des « produits de l'emprise du monde social sur les individus » et comme « des influences en elles-mêmes de l'action et de l'interaction sociale », c'est-à-dire « comme des forces explicatives à intégrer à l'analyse de la dynamique sociale » (Bernard, 2015a).De la même façon, le rôle des émotions dans la construction du soi a marqué l'anthropologie depuis les travaux de M.
