Title: Importance of Hydration and Exercise in the Diagnosis of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Secondary to Scleroderma
Abstract: Background: Approval for pulmonary vasodilator therapy for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) secondary to scleroderma requires the measurement of mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) and pulmonary capillary wedge pressure (PCWP) via right heart catheterisation (RHC). The effect of fluid loading and exercise on these parameters in patients with scleroderma is poorly characterised.
