Title: Coordinate control of distributed generation and power electronics loads in microgrid
Abstract: Droop control is an effective power sharing control scheme for islanding microgrid. With the load increasing, the microgrid may face overload challenge. Dispatch system should schedule energy storage system to provide power reserve or load shedding for preventing islanding microgrid black out. This paper proposes a coordinate control scheme for distributed generation (DG) units and active loads to provide instantaneous reserve for microgrid. A load frequency trimming control is invested to participate into supply-demand balance service to maintain and enhance the system reliability, only using control variables of the converter itself that can be measured locally. Through the frequency trimming control strategy, supply-demand balance can be realized automatically, and microgrid can avoid malfunction. Therefore, the communication links, dispatch system, and additional energy storage system can be excluded. Matlab simulations are presented to show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme performance in islanding microgrid.
