The results showed that the melting temperature, apparent viscosity and activation energy of viscous flow gradually rise w ith the increase of Cr2O3 content, and that present a larger increase for the slags with bigger basicity. When the basicity of slag is 1.5, melting temperature increases by 50 °C and apparent viscosity increase by 0.1 Pa.s with the increase of Cr2O3 content from 0 to 1.5%. But melting temperature and apparent viscosity rise by 100 °C and 0.2 Pa.s for the slags with basicity 1.7, respectively. The small amounts of Cr2O3 in stainless steel refining slag can reduce the liquidity of slag by inducing the precipitate of CaO.Cr2O3 with high melting point, which has a negative effect on the desulfurization.Read More
