Title: Phytochemical and Biological Investigation of Ficus mysorensis Cultivated in Egypt
Abstract: Six compounds were isolated for the first time from the leaves of Ficus mysorensis and were identified as friedelin (1), β-friedelinol (2), lupeol (3), β-sitosterol (4), erythrodiol (5) and benzyl-O-β-Dglucopyranoside (6) on the basis of their spectroscopic data (IR, 1 H- and 13 C-NMR, EIMS, ESIMS) and direct comparison with published literatures. The crude alcoholic extract showed weak antimicrobial activity and good radical scavenging effect towards DPPH radical, as well as remarkable cytotoxic activity against Human colon carcinoma (HCT-116) cell line and weak cytotoxic activity against hepatocellular carcinoma (HEP-G2) cell line.
