Title: Energy Efficient Approach of Route Selection for Dynamic Source Routing Protocol in MANET
Abstract: The Dynamic Source Routing protocol (DSR) is very efficient routing protocol which is design for multi-hop wireless ad hoc networks of mobile nodes. DSR is basically reactive routing protocol and it is completely self organized and infrastructure less network. It has no centralized administrator all nodes working as router. This protocol works on two basic flooding operation route discovery and route maintenance which work together to communicate between source to destination. In DSR protocol, it select shortest path for sending data packet from source to destination, each node consume energy for sending data packet. While discovery a path it select same route for data transmission so node will die because all mobile nodes has limited battery power. It consumes more energy at the transmission of data packets which leads to packet drops and energy consumption. Since all nodes are depend on nodes energy. In this paper we proposed alternative route selection mechanism for increasing the network lifetime and consume less energy.
