Title: Demonstration of backprojection algorithm for ISAR image formation with FMCW radar
Abstract: In inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging generally pulsed or stepped frequency mode of transmission is utilized. Such radar systems require high operating power and do not provide easy portability. FMCW radar has advantage of low power, low cost and small cubage making it a portable system to be used on variety of platforms. In this paper, we develop a backprojection algorithm for ISAR imaging by processing beat signals from FMCW radars for imaging rotating targets at uniform angular veocity. Our results demonstrate utility of FMCW radar for producing high resolution ISAR images.
