Title: Social Development: The New Challenge to Liberalized Electricity Markets
Abstract: In order to guarantee or improve more and more the social welfare, developing countries are facing social claims towards development at the energy sector under the new regulatory framework. The old monopoly model used to ensure the investments to incite development. However, the new market model based in competition does not allow economical dysfunctions and inhibit the subsidies mechanisms. By this way, regulatory bodies of development countries are creating other financial mechanisms in order to promote the progress of specific production sectors and deprived communities.
