Abstract: The natural gas sector in Colombia has increased demand, together with a combination of market and energy policy. But the strength of demand begins to show signs of exhaustion, due to the high uncertainty of future supply. Currently, the gas supply cannot meet demand in severe local situations (peak demand as the phenomenon of child) or contingency situations in the transmission or supply. As suggested by the jargon of the electricity sector, gas sector has a problem of adequacy and security. We propose a generalized view of the operational context of the gas market in Colombia, and their interaction with the electricity sector.
