Title: An optimum adaptive equalizer realized with the fewest operations
Abstract: Depending on the known HF channel equivalent-baseband model and minimum mean squared error principle, an optimum adaptive equalizer (OAE) realized with the fewest arithmetic operations for fast serial data transmission is presented which cancels intersymbol interference completely. Its performance, and the effects of additive noise on the system, are analyzed. In addition, the structure approached by least mean squares is presented. Computer simulation shows that the OAE performs better than the linear equalizer, the decision feedback equalizer, and the linear cancellation equalizer.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
