Abstract: This paper presents some characteristics of the personal names reprented in the Phoenician inscriptions found at Kition. The large majority of them are Semitic names also attested on the Levantine coast and the Punic world, but in some cases this onomastic, associated to local divinities, is more restricted to Kition or Cyprus in general. A few names are translated from the Greek and other should be related to a local, non Semitic language.
