To obtain an overall impression of the study area a photogrammetric map was constructed. A striae map and a map of glaciofluvial erosional and depositional forms provide a comprehensive view of the glacio-morphological conditions in a part of central Lapland, so far relatively unknown from geological and geomorphological points of view. A tentative interpretation of the formation of the Båldakatj boulder delta is given. A striking feature of the study area is the occurrence of large boulders that protrude out of the cobble and boulder material that forms parts of the delta lobes. Distinct patterns of flow phenomena around the boulders indicate the direction of flow.Read More
