Abstract: Each utility faced with interim storage of Low-Level Radioactive Wastes (LLW) will need to evaluate its own unique situation relative to disposal. those considering on-site storage will face decisions in such areas as licensing, facility design, storage duration and capacity, and waste form. It is the goal of this research project to document existing industry experience and the insight of industry experts relative to LLW storage issues. Using this comprehensive data, utilities can make decisions based on the best available information without having to develop it independently. They can also operate their interim on-site storage facilities more cost-effectively and efficiently, with greater assurance of safety.
