Abstract: An object in reliability theory means a unit, an apparatus, an engineering product and any system or its part at all, considering from the point of view of their reliability. Reliability means the possibility of an object to maintain its workability during a given time period under a given exploitation condition. This chapter discusses the reliablity of renewable systems after looking at the reliability characteristics of units up to the first failure. The methods of statistical data collection and retrieving from it the maximal information about units' reliability characteristics depend on the information available and the methods of the unit's reliability testing. The chapter analyzes the system reliability depending on the reliability of their parts. Since the reliability of complex systems depends on the reliability of their components, thus to calculate the reliability characteristics of complex system, some initial information about the reliability of its components is usually needed.
