Title: The effect of stretching in maintaining skin extensibility in rats
Abstract: Background: Currently, the prevention of joint contracture is regarded as more important than the treatment of joint contracture, and it is important to understand the tissues that are involved in cause of joint contractures. Previous studies have demonstrated that the muscle and skin are involved in joint contractures associated with immobilization. The muscle extensibility have shown to be maintained by stretching. However, no reports were located that demonstrated if skin extensibility could be maintained by stretching.
