Title: Rolling Contact Fatigue Observation of Radial PPS Bearings under Dry Condition
Abstract: Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) is a suitable material for bearings which are used under dry conditions. We performed rolling contact fatigue tests using radial PPS bearings and investigated changes in the material structure and fatigue behavior under dry conditions. From these tests, we found that the bearings stop moving for two reasons: melting of wear tracks and build up of adhesion film on the surfaces in a race.
