Title: Standardization of Sieve Size of Grading of Seed of Wheat<i>(Triticum Aestivum</i>L.)
Abstract: Oblong sieve size of 2.30 mm should be used for processing of variety HUW 234, K 9533 (Naina), PBW 502 and PBW 550 without much loss in seed quality and better recovery of seeds. The variety and sieve size had showed significant effects with respect to all the characters studied except pure seed percentage and seed moisture percentage. Highest seed recovery, 100 seed weight, seed breadth and seed thickness was recorded in variety K- 9533. Highest seedling length, seed vigour index-I, seed vigour index-II, seedlings dry weight and seed moisture percentage was recorded in variety PBW 502. However highest standard seed germination and seed length was recorded in variety PBW550. Highest pure seed percentage was recorded in HUW 234.
