Title: 28 colleges and 1 Primo: implementation in a shared bibliographic environment
Abstract: Dale Wann, Web Programmer/Analyst, College Center for Library Automation (CCLA).
This session will provide an introduction to how CCLA is different and how it’s the same as other Aleph customers. Highlights will include special challenges in implementing Primo in a single-BIB, multi-ADM environment; how to satisfy 28 institutions with 81 circulating libraries in 65 cities with 1 Primo; early disappointments with combined scopes, FRBR, and dedup in the shared environment, and subsequent work with Ex Libris to solve those problems. Also covered will be topics such as customizing views for each of 28 institutions: where we are and where we would like to be, as well as the development of an administrative module to allow all those librarians to be able to maintain their individual pages without accessing the Primo back office and without manual intervention on CCLAs part. Volume-related issues with publishing, scope, MetaLib, and views management.
