Description: The genus Impatiens Linnaeus (1753: 937), represented by over 1000 species in the world, is considered to be one of the most species-rich genera of angiosperms (Yu et al. 2015). The genus is distributed chiefly in the tropical and subtropical regions of the Old World, and extending into temperate Asia, Europe and North America (Grey-Wilson 1980, Fischer 2004).
