Abstract: In the United States, the term ‘conflicts of law’ refers to subjects that deal with the jurisdiction of courts to adjudicate disputes; to the choice of the particular law applicable to a dispute; and to the judicial enforcement of foreign judgments. In Mexico these subjects are identified by the phrase ‘private international law’. This chapter deals with three important subjects included under private international law: choice of law, jurisdiction to adjudicate, and enforcement of foreign judgments.
