Title: Changes in Work Organization and Labour Relations in Hungary after 1989
Abstract: The breakdown of the centrally planned economies in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) in 1989 marked the start of a period in which these economies are gradually transformed into market economies. The international organizations and others observing the transition process have mainly focused on changes at the macro level: on privatization and growth of private enterprise, on liberalization of trade, on reform of financial institutions and other aspects of changes in economic life which can be used as a kind of yardstick to measure progression towards a market economy.
