Abstract: Abstract • Myalgia may occur after lipid-lowering treatment, especially statins.• True myositis is accompanied by a raised creatine kinase (CK) level in the blood.• Minor elevations of CK are common and may not relate to statin treatment.• Severe myositis or rhabdomyolysis is rare.• Myalgia can be reduced by lowering the dose of statin, adding in other treatment, or changing to another statin.
