Title: Improving the dynamic range of the digitizing stage in full-duplex radios
Abstract: This paper proposes a novel method, called in-band delay and cancellation digitization (IBDCD), to release the requirement for high-capacity analog cancellation by breaking the bottleneck of digital cancellation capacity. In full-duplex radios, the capacity of digital cancellation is bounded by the dynamic range of analog-to-digital converter (ADC), which can be improved by the proposed IBDCD scheme. The IBDCD uses a multi-chip combination based method to improve the signal-to-noise-ratio of digital samples. In experiments, the IBDCD scheme achieves the same dynamic range as an ideal 13.15-bits ADC over a 5MHz bandwidth using 8-bits commercial ADCs.
