Abstract: Abstract This chapter begins with details of the departure of Buddha and the community of monks from Kapilavatthu for Rajagaha. On the trip back they stayed at Anupiya, the very first town the Buddha visited after he renounced the world of the householder. It then describes how Bhaddiya, Anuruddha, Ananda, Bhagu, Kimbila, and Devadatta, old friends who had always played together, together with Upali the barber, headed out of town to catch up with the Buddha. It also shows details the friendship between the King Pasenadi and Buddha.
