Title: The Space of Intellect and the Intellect of Space
Abstract: This essay examines the relationship between intellectual history, spatial analysis, and digital neogeography. It considers how intellectual history has or has not participated in various “spatial turns,” and tries to imagine the intersection of the two traditions in the future. It concludes with a case study of recent attempts to apply spatial theory and digital mapping techniques to the history of Europe’s Enlightenment.
