Title: Mutual Perceptions in the Persian Gulf Region
Abstract: In contemporary times, the Persian Gulf has been the scene of tension and international confrontation, including two massive wars in the last two decades of the twentieth century. Though a number of analysts argue that it is the existence of oil and the consequent international interest in the Persian Gulf that have contributed to the tensions and conflicts there, one cannot dismiss the significance of a number of historical processes that have shaped the region's present realities. Viewed simply in terms of its contribution to the development of civilizations and religions, the Persian Gulf region has been of international significance throughout history.KeywordsSaudi ArabiaArab CountryIslamic WorldIslamic CountryIslamic CivilizationThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
