Abstract: This chapter provides an approximat and condensed overview of global weeds to watch. Weeds to watch is the headline of a poster from the extension service of Iowa State University. It lists weeds that are or might become a problem in future. Some of the most common global monocot weeds include Avena, Setaria, Echinochloa, Cyperus, Digitaria, Phalaris, and Alopecurus. The most common dicot weeds include Chenopodium, Polygonum, Amaranthus, Abutilon theophrasti, Convolvulus arvensis, Cirsium arvense, Galium aparine, Raphanus, and Ambrosia. A number of widespread representatives could easily be added to the momocot and dicot weeds, such as Brachiaria species, Bromus species, Elytrigia repens, Imperata cylindrica, Bidens pilosa, Xanthium strumarium, Euphorbia species, Veronica species or volunteer crop species.
