Abstract: This chapter examines the success and acceptance of Darwinism in Argentina. It explains that dissemination and popularization of Darwinism occurred at various levels of society which included high profile exhibits and public debates on evolution. The chapter suggests that the publicly expressed views of political and scientific leaders and the close collaboration between political and scientific communities also helped popularize Darwinian thought. It also mentions that by the time of Darwin's death in 1882, he was considered in Argentina as one of the founding figures of the country.
