Title: Comparison of Willow Leaf Rust Quantification Methods
Abstract: Leaf rust caused by Melampsora spp. is one of the most widely distributed diseases of willows (Salix sp., Salicaceae) [l]. Objective and rapid methods for quantification of rust severity are needed in selection of rust resistant willow species and clones for the breeding programs of short rotation forestry [3], and in ecophysiological studies, which investigate the phytochemical changes occurring in rust-infected willows [2].
