Title: Analysis of volatile components of fresh Perilla frutescens (L.) Britt. var. acuta (Thunb.) Kudo by headspace GC/MS
Abstract: The technology of headspace coupled GUMS was used to study the volatile components of both fresh and dry Perilla frutescens. Twenty-three components were identified of which beta-caryophyllene (24.2%), thujopsene (13.0-20.8%), perillaldehyde (14.2-15.1%) and (Z)-beta-famesene (3.3-10.9%) were major.
