Title: Repetition, Rhyme, and Exchange in The Book of Odes
Abstract: Par opposition aux interpretations actuelles du Shi jing (le Livre des Odes), l'une etant centree sur les proprietes litteraires du poeme et l'autre sur son influence culturelle, l'A. propose une relation differente entre la forme et l'ethos de cet ouvrage, en examinant deux passages issus de la periode classique. Ces passages traitent des actes et des relations en societe - conduite bien elevee, mariage, hommage, remontrances publiques, et le lien entre le souverain et le conseiller. Ils decrivent divers types de regles, qui ne sont ni morales, ni utilitaires, mais qui sont juste la pour la bonne forme. L'A. montre ainsi que la poesie chinoise classique presente les memes interets. En effet, les proprietes formelles du Livre des Odes sont inseparables des schemas de comportement, c-a-d, l'organisation des rimes et des strophes est un moyen oublie par lequel la musique et le gouvernement convergent
