Title: Fibroadenoma of the breast during pregnancy and lactation--disappearance postpartum: report of a case.
Abstract: The patient a white woman in the 2nd decade had a mass in the right breast. Excisional biopsy revealed a fibroadenoma. 6 months later a mass was present in each breast. Excisional biopsies confirmed the diagnosis of bilateral fibroadenomata. A few months later at the 7th month of pregnancy a well-circumscribed nontender mass was present in the left breast. Needle biopsy obtained tissue was diagnosed fibroadenoma. 6 months later no evidence of tumor was found. Follow-up at 3-month intervals for 1 year showed no fibroadenomata.
