The introduction of enhanced detection methods allows the viral load of semen to be accurately measured and compared to that in blood. Those with a lower viral load in the semen are less likely to transmit HIV to their sexual partners. The articles indicate that the viral load in semen drops with the use of anti-retroviral drugs. The data suggests that protease inhibitors will lower the semen viral load more than nucleosides alone.Read More
