Abstract: THELIFE OF an immigrant child, or the child of immigrants or immigrant descendants, and the role the library has played or might play in that life are the subject of this paper. While there are children of migrants all over the world, this report is confined to children in countries where the parents have settled permanently; of these, England, the United States, Canada, and Australia are considered.
