Optometrists and technicians must evaluate certain factors in determining the feasibility of utilizing a technician within an optometric practice. The role of the technician as part of the supportive staff is discussed, as well as the physical layout of the office and the attitude of the staff, the doctor and the patients toward delegation of duties. This paper is presented from the standpoint of a practicing optometric technician, with examples of technician utilization in actual practice situations.Read More
