Title: Energy: Problems of introducing CNG to New Zealand
Abstract: In early August 1979 the Minister of Energy announced a target of 150,000 vehicles to be converted to run on CNG by the end o9f 1985. This represents about 10 percent of the total New Zealand road fleet, and perhaps 20 percent of all vehicles accessible to natural gas reticulation. The announcement followed a general policy decision to encourage the use of LPG and CNG as motor fuel alternatives to petrol.
