Title: Treatment of Gastrojejunal Anastomotic Stenosis in Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Patients
Abstract: Gastrojejunal anastomotic (GJA) stenosis following gastric bypass surgery occurs in 6-20% of patients. The etiology is unclear, but thought to be secondary to tissue ischemia or tension. The symptoms can occur anytime following gastric bypass and include nauasea, vomiting, dysphagia, reflux, and inability to tolerate oral intake. A variety of endoscopic approaches can effectively manage this complication.
