Title: [RNA-based transgene silencing: mechanism and applications].
Abstract: RNA-based transgene silencing is a phenomenon that endogenous and exogenous mRNAs are degraded specifically directed by double-stranded RNA. Here we review the recent advances on its mechanism and summarize related proteins and expatiate their functions. Furthermore,we introduce the enormous potential of dsRNA as a tool in functional genomics research and practical biotechnology.
