Title: Prediction of paleokarst reservoir in the southeastern slope of Tazhong area in Tarim Basin using seismic techniques
Abstract: The Ordovician carbonate reservoirs of in the Tazhong area of Tarim Basin were characterized by deeply buried depth and strong heterogeneity. These reservoirs have the obvious reflection features and well-log curves.Based on these geophysical responses, many seismic techniques such as post-stack seismic attributes, seismic acoustic impedance inversion, lithology inversion from pre-stack seismic data, and hydrocarbon detection were applied for predicting the fractured and paleocave reservoirs of Lower Ordovician on the southeastern slope of Tazhong area.Five developed zones of paleokarst reservoirs and four favorable drilling targets were obtained from the integration analyses of seismic data and well data by using structure, rock physics and lithofacies information. An oil well in the favorable target zone was drilled, and the above prediction was proved.
