Abstract:The growth process of 316 stainless slab was simulated by means of commercial finite element software ANSYS and element birth and death technology in order to study the influence of casting speed and ...The growth process of 316 stainless slab was simulated by means of commercial finite element software ANSYS and element birth and death technology in order to study the influence of casting speed and superheat on molten steel solidification in the continuous casting process.Using three dimensional model,the changes of slab shell outlet temperature,corner temperature and solidified shell thickness were calculated when casting speed is 0.4,0.5,0.6,0.8 m/min and superheat is 30,40,50 ℃.The results showed that with the increase of casting speed and superheat,the outlet and the corner temperature of slab shell rose,while the outlet thickness became thin;the undulatory range of the corner temperature got smaller with increasing the casting speed;the minimum shell thickness was about 40 mm on the transverse direction under low casting speed,and the location of the minimum shell thickness was close to the corner of the solidified shell under high casting speed.Read More
