Title: On College English Faculty Development from the Perspective of General Education
Abstract: Against the backdrop of growing prevalence of general education in China′s higher education,many College English teachers are at a disadvantage because of their lack of diversified knowledge structure,their weak understanding of the principles of general education,their rigid teaching methods,and their lack of opportunities for professional training and further studies.Updated concepts of education,improved teaching methods,continued self-development and introduction of talents from outside are what is needed to optimize the College English workforce and to turn College English into an important and effective means for implementation of general education in China′s higher education.
