Apoptotic cells were identified with the transferase(TDT) mediated duTP biotin nick end labeling(TUNEL) method and electron microscopy. Results A few apoptotic cells were found in 9 of 15 human retinoblastoma specimens but no apoptotic cells were detected in 2 spontaneous regression RB specimens. Conclusion Necrosis and apoptosis are the two major ways of RB cell dying. There is no sufficient evidence that the cell apoptosis is the mechanism of spontaneous regression of RB.Read More
